Want to Use AI? Read This First

How can students uphold their academic integrity while using AI?

It’s a pressing question for learners, teachers, professors, and administrators.

Our answer is pretty simple:

Use AI as a virtual research assistant—not as a writer.

In our expert opinion, the #1 way students can use AI is by consulting it for resource recommendations.

Students can ask AI to search the web for books, articles, and scholarly papers where helpful information exists.

Then, they can go to those sources and do the reading and research needed to complete the assignment.

This means that students will have primary and secondary sources—and their own informed arguments and opinions—that they can cite.

Students, don’t forget: you need both a citation in your reference section AND an in-text parenthetical citation.

Citations got you stressed?
